Role – Graphic Designer / Concept Designer
Katana is a cloud-based inventory software trusted by manufacturers worldwide. With a strong focus on human-centric design, the team sought a concept to introduce their new AI bot, Kai, in a way that felt approachable and aligned with their brand. The project involved developing a friendly, engaging integration that would enhance the website experience while maintaining a professional and scalable design system.

The concept, titled Central Intelligence, explored the relationship between Katana, their AI tool Kai, and the end user. The challenge was low adoption rates for the new feature, with fewer users signing up than expected. Through visual design and illustration, the concept aimed to bridge the gap between user and technology, presenting Kai in a way that felt approachable and trustworthy – ultimately encouraging greater user confidence and adoption.

The concept was designed to be highly scalable, with flexibility to evolve across multiple marketing campaigns and deliverables. By establishing a strong creative foundation, it opened the door for new ideas and future iterations. At its core, the vision highlighted technology and humans working side by side – creating a sense of unity that reduced fear and built trust in adopting Kai.
